What AutoMyco does
Replacement firmware for the Terrashroom TS‑01. Your chamber runs the grow by itself again, with no cloud, and talks to Home Assistant and an iPhone app over your own Wi-Fi.
Where it's at
Version 1.1.0 is out. It adds grow phases, load checks, updates from the iPhone app without Home Assistant, and grow recipes that update without a reflash. AutoMyco has been running on my own chamber since early October 2026, and temperature, humidity, fans, mister, heater, lights and the self-test are all confirmed on real hardware. The no-wire install has been tested on a stock chamber.
Still open: the base light strip on my unit and the water-level probe. The firmware works around the probe by watching humidity instead.
Stock firmware vs AutoMyco
| Stock (Blynk) | AutoMyco | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs the cloud | Yes. The grow logic only ran with the Blynk app connected, and that cloud is gone. | No. The grow loop runs on the chamber. Wi-Fi only adds the app and Home Assistant. |
| Species presets | 13 presets. The Blue Oyster preset sets no temperature or humidity. | The same presets with the stock values, plus custom targets. Blue Oyster is fixed. |
| Humidity | On/off misting. | Pulsed misting, a gentle top-up near the target, and an automatic purge when it gets too wet. |
| Heater safety | Single threshold. | Cuts out on a missing or stale sensor reading, or above 88 °F, even in manual mode. |
| UV-C lamp | The self-test switches it on. | Off at every boot, and the self-test never turns it on. You can switch it on from the app (after a warning) to sterilise the empty chamber, and it switches itself off after 1–60 minutes. |
| Updates | Unsigned, pushed by a server that no longer exists. | Over Wi-Fi only with your chamber's own encryption key, which no other chamber shares. Upload from the web page is switched off. |
| Home Assistant | No. | Yes, through the ESPHome integration, with encryption. |
Updates and phones
Updates
You install AutoMyco once. After that, updates go over Wi-Fi. Add the chamber to Home Assistant within 30 minutes of powering it up so it gets its own encryption key, then update it from Home Assistant, or from the iPhone app (Settings, then Update firmware). No Home Assistant? Reinstall over the cable with the flasher. For now that also resets the chamber's settings.
Android
Open the no-wire install in Chrome, and your phone does the whole thing over Bluetooth. The wired install also works with a CH340 adapter and a USB-C OTG cable.
iPhone
Safari can't use Bluetooth or USB from a web page, so install from a computer or an Android phone for now. No-wire install from the iPhone app is in the works. After installing, the iPhone app is the best way to run your chamber.
Use the iPhone app. It does the no-wire install itself: hold the button on the chamber, then tap Install on a new chamber on the welcome screen (or Settings, then Firmware).
